Architectural Dachshund

Welcome to Architectural Dachshund, a unique venture where creativity meets craftsmanship. I am Amy Lieurance, and each of the Stick Shapes are made by me with care, evolving through various iterations from thick walnut to lightweight vinyl and foam core. The shapes will easily adhere to your walls, allowing you to be inspired by the sets or unleash your imagination to create your own. The Art is designed by me, and printed with high density and quality ink on matte paper. The Walnut and pPrints use real 1/8" thick oiled walnut shapes, along with the printed designs. The Framed Prints arrive with a silicone/plexi covering, and are just print only. And, who doesn't love a MUG? Choose from a large variety, and have your cofee with the Dachshunds. (Coffee has clearly stunted their growth). And finally, who can't relate to Dachshun Swag? Cool products with more to come!

Amy

I grew up in the midwest, with all Herman Miller furniture. I attended the Avery Coonly School, in Downers Grove, IL, where I learned to love nature, art, and I like to think, thinking creatively, as we got to tap Maple trees and learned about Art every morning. I majored in Design at UCLA, and was thinking about textile design, because of my love of shapes. I never produced any sheets, but in all of my design endeavors, it seems shapes were always at the center of the design work, certainly with logos and branding. I made solid Walnut Shapes, that were 1.25" thick, and a bit heavy, and formerly known as Dieter Max. I decided to make thinner shapes and started cutting circles out of 1/8" walnut boards, then realized I loved the left overs (dieter hourglass, and the Zoey Ends). I loved how they all fit together, and that you could arrange them any way you wanted to. The Zoey End got dropped from the Mini's, because it proved to be too thin, but it's available in Shapes. The Max box and the Ernie E came a little later, but made all the shapes work together, no matter how you turned them. The names are all Dachshunds I have either had, or currently have.

Ingrid

Oct 7, 1989 - July 16, 1993
Ingrid started it all. Got her from a breeder in Fallbrook, CA, and it was love at first site. She came with a hand knitted blanket, and she sat on my lap all the way back to Los Angeles. She was very naughty and adorable. Heartbreak at a life so short. I'll never forget her.

Dieter

Aug 4, 1999-August 22, 20016.
A little dapple dachshund purchased for me by my girlfriend, when whe accompanied her friend to a pet store to for the friend to buy a gold fish. Only 9 lbs, he growled like a rotweiler when you moved him if he was cozy, and took 5th at the Weiner Nationals, in 1002.

Zoey

Aug 22, 2000 - May 5, 2016. I adopted Zoey when she was only 8 weeks old. Nicknamed "the sheriff" she despised children, and broke up any fun Dieter may have been having. She was my girl.

Roxy

January 23, 2006 - July 28, 2022. I adopted Roxy at 2 1/2 in Palm Springs, CA., and she almost went to someone else. Extremely shy upon meeting her, she was a realy beauty. She maintained her stoic yet loveable personality, and was my loyal companion through it all. A lovely devoted dog. I miss her.

Max

Aug 4, 2029
I adopted Max in Seattle, where he lived with his girlfriend the Chiwaua, and fathered 3 cho-weenies. A real lover, and very sensitive soul with fur that feels like suede, with very long ears.

Weaver

May 27, 2022 I was out walking Max not long after my beloved Roxy passed, and a neighbor said you know there is a dachshund breeder about a half mile from here. That day, I visited, and Weaver was available. Love at first site, he is my first wire haired, loved by all, very social, and is obsessed with fetching and returning the ball.

Ernie

August 7, 2022. After adopting Weaver, I ran into the breeder, and she asked if I would like one of her male dachshunds, who was very small. Once I saw him, what could I say? I tried thinking of a cool german name for him like Diesel, or Boris, but because he was my 3rd son (Max and Weaver), I named him Ernie after the show.
